Security System Monitoring

Security Alarm Monitoring in Western Australia

Professional Monitoring Services

Securex Security Systems & Services recommends and offers professional security monitoring services throughout Australia 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The advantages of professional monitoring includes:

  • Staff at the monitoring centre are availablke 24/7 to action an alarm event.
  • Staff at the monitoring centre can advise exactly what the event that occured was as they have the alarm history at their finger tips.
  • Staff at the monitoring centre can advise of the probablity of an intruder being onsite from the occurance of multiple alarms and can action guards and police as required.
  • Insurance companies prefer a site to have a monitored alarm system, this may even affect your premiums.

Our “Central Monitoring Station” or control rooms are graded to the highest level, Grade A1. (This involves that they be reassessed every two years to ensure they comply with strict standards AS2201.) We have several control rooms as not all control rooms can provide a full range of services that we require for our clients. By connecting your security system to our control room, we can guarantee that if and when your alarm is activated, that the correct action is taken depending of the situation.

The Police in each state have different policies in relation to them attending alarms and in WA they will only attend to alarms that are reported to them on a special contact number, and that are from an approved “Central Monitoring Station”. The monitoring stations work with the WA Police to reduce the number of false alarms that the WA Police are requested to attend and therefore will only attend to alarms that are categorised as high risk “Category A” or when 2 different zones are activated. They will not attend to single activations or multiple activations from the same zone or device. These will need to be attended to by a security patrol or the client.  The monitoring stations will call your nominated contacts and advise them of the details the alarm has reported, and any appropriate actions to secure your home or business.

Self Monitoring

Securex Security Systems and Services will provide this self monitoring services such as systems calling mobiles, or sending SMS or App notification, however we highly recommend professional monitoring over self monitoring, as the only advantage to the use of this service is reduced cost. The disadvantages outway the advantages.

Methods of Security Alarm Monitoring

GPRS
A GPRS service uses the mobile telephone network and is a data service similar to the EFTPOS machines used in taxi services.

Depending on the risk of your property these communications can be set to occur, from one every 24 hours or as frequently as every 90 seconds for high risk premises.
A GPRS unit can also have multiple paths of communications allowing for redundancy. These paths include, Dual SIM and IP paths allowing high risk premises to maintain monitoring in case of failure of a network.

IP Monitoring

IP (Internet Protocol) Monitoring allows your security alarm system to communicate with our control room via the Internet and requires additional hardware and are an option to the GPRS services.

Securex Security Systems & Services can supply and install the hardware which communicate with our control room via IP-only or IP and GPRS, providing you with the ultimate method of communication. Should one signal be lost due to tampering or other difficulties, the other will still communicate effectively. While IP only would reduce communications costs it does allow the polling rate to be even quicker as often as 2 seconds. To ensure that the IP remains working when there is a power outage the router, switches, IP/GPRS device all need to have a battery backup or UPS.

Our response options are customised to suit your individual risk security requirements in a cost effective manner.
